In 2022, TC Thunder alumni, 2019 Kamiakin graduate, and Utah Valley University track team member Parker J. Morgan passed away after a courageous battle with chondrosarcoma, a rare bone cancer. Morgan, who after completing his freshman season with UVU was preparing for an LDS mission in Norway when he received his diagnosis. The following months would see highs and lows, and up to the end Parker never complained and kept a smile on his face. Those who knew him loved him, and he loved everyone who crossed his path.
We felt impelled to find a way to honor the life Parker lived: One of hard work, love for fellow man, and finding joy in everything. With his parent's blessing, we created the Parker J. Morgan athlete of the year award to honor those members of our club who embody what it means to "Live Like Parker"
This award recognizes not just athletic accomplishments; it recognizes those athletes who take the time to be a good friend, teammate, and human to those around them. Award recipients are nominated by members of our coaching staff and we are honored to have Parker's parents, Jeff and Chrissy Morgan present this award each year.
